Farrah Tomazin’s report in The Sunday Age today is alarming as it reveals that Victoria does not have the same laws that every other Australian state and territory, and the Commonwealth, has to tackle internet grooming. Pay extra attention to what your children are doing on line. Cyber safety expert and former Victorian police officer Susan McLean warned parents to be vigilant. “In one interstate case, a man targeted children from a school by pretending he would be arriving soon as a new student. He set up an online account and about 70 children befriended him on it without realising he was a paedophile,” she said.
