Blocking software or filters are the names used for programs that you can install and use on your computer to control the information that is accessed by children whilst on the internet.

One of the features of this site is the Filters Section which reviews a selection of the most commonly used internet filtering software programs available to download or purchase. Every year we retest the filters and check against our previous results. The pages have just been updated and I suggest that you check here before you purchase any internet filtering software, especially if you are an Ivanhoe Grammar School parent. For parents of children not at Ivanhoe you should contact your school’s IT Department before installing filtering software on a computer used in a school notebook program.
