This video is intended to shock. We must never become complacent. It is a wake up call to all of us to become involved in our children’s online life. Firstly we must ensure that if our children are under 13 that they are not on Facebook. Remember that if they are, they could be chatting with people they don’t know. Even if you are their Facebook friend, they are probably ‘friends’ with older teens – the sisters and brothers of their friends or perhaps older cousins as well. Would you let them go to a party alone with older teens – probably not – yet on Facebook they could be living in the worlds of older teens. They are hearing the language they may use, they are witnessing the things they do and hearing their views on topics teens discuss. They are watching the videos they post and the pictures they upload.
