Creepy New Facebook Application

Ever wished a friend was single? Anonymously enter their WaitingRoom and give them a hint!

This is how the recently released Facebook App is advertised!  It allows people to anonymously enter the ‘waiting room’ of another Facebook user whom they may be romantically interested in but whose current status reads  ‘in a relationship’.  The Facebook user is notified that someone is in the ‘waiting room’ but does not know who that person is.  The identity of the ‘waiter’ is only revealed after the Facebook user changes his status to ‘single’.  Curiosity has already caused tension between couples when one wishes to see who the ‘waiter’ is and changes their status to ‘single’  invoking all sorts of recriminations and hurt feelings from the current partner.  Critics have argued that predators and/or stalkers or cyberbullies could find this app of particular interest.

WaitingRoom promises to help notify your love of ... well, your love.
